I have seen in dicussions here that Nokia VOIP client should not register over edge. I do not know what I am doing wrong, but it registers on my e63 without problems, yet (alas) can not accept or make SIP calls, it only registers with the server, and shows in status the icon as if it is connected (checked on the server - it really is)
Now, the problem is, when I am in place without 3G coverage, the phone thus registers over edge, and when the server tries to send incoming call, it fails to do it. The call is missed. Is there any way for me to disable registrations in edge newtworks? (it is strange for voip client to register over such edge connection it knows exactly it would not be able to use... but somehow it happens...)
Switching from dual mode to 3G network only mode in phone settings will no do, because in this case I will turn off voice call as well (and the whole idea is - when sip client is not registered, voip server forwards calls to the cell phone, which whole idea is prevented with these fake registrations over edge I am having with my Nokia e63). Cell provider says there is no way do disable gprs or edge only separately from 3g, so I am really stuck with the problem...
Hope I have made it clear.
Thanks!!
