How to add a WLAN access point via Device Management?

Hi,

I'm trying to add a new access point using OMA-DM. I can do it for the case of an access point of type GSM-GPRS following these instructions, but I'm not able to do it for an access point of type WLAN. The OMA-DM command succeeds and the new access point is there when I get the OMA-DM tree, but it doesn't appear in the list of access points that the phone displays.

I'm using an N95 with the following data:

V 11.0.026
17-04-07
RM-159
Nokia N95 (47.01)

Hey Golvano,
I am trying out the same...In the same example quoted by you, you can replace GSM-GPRS with WLAN and you can see the AP in the list displayed by device. But, my issue is that i am not able to set security mode like WPA or WEP to the newly created WLAN AP.

If you have succeeded, please share with us.

Hi,

In order to set the security mode you need to add something like this to the creation of the IAP:

Add ./AP/APIdxxx/NAPDef/NAPIdxxx/WLAN/WLIdxxx/SecurityMode WPA

The options to the mode are are WPA, WEP, 8021X and WPA2.

And then if you want to use the EAP authentication you need to define some EAPs also just by adding those EAP-related parameters defined in the OMA DM Connectivity spesification (./AP/APIDxxx/NAPDef/NAPIdxxx/WLAN/WLIdxxx/EAP/EAPId0xx/parameter )

But I would like to know how to get and create a Node and its Parameters?

I think it should like:


Add Profile:

iSmlDmAdapter->AddNodeObjectL(_L8("VoIP/VoIP001"),KNullDesC8,0);

Add Node:

iSmlDmAdapter->AddNodeObjectL(_L8("VoIP/VoIP001/SipSpecific"), KNullDesC8, 0);

But how to add parameters in the node, like SipSpecificId?
