status pane do not show ...help

I am a newbie and trying on my first sample application and I am showing a splash screen on application rect followed by a login form passing it into the client rect . My problem is that I see a part of my old splash screen in place of the status pane .
I have tried setting Status Resource Empty while trying to pass splash into client rect ,for this problem , then the status pane do not show in emulator but then the splash do not turn fullscreen and turning status pane invisible do not make navigation , title and icon go .What else to do HELP.
I am doing coding with sdk2.3 for N70 phone as a starter
