Tools, Settings, Connection, Access points, New
    - Data bearer = WLAN
    - WLAN network mode = AdHoc

What you are trying to do?

You may want to switch off DHCP if case the other device does not have an DHCP server.

Once you are basic WLAN Access point settings, click Options, "Advanced settings" and IPv4/6. There you can manually enter the IPv4/ipV6 static IP address for your device.

Thanks for the first steps! I'm trying myself to enable a WLAN ad-hoc connection between two nokia phones with WLAN capabilities (in this case Xpress 5800 and E71). I have set-up the ad-hoc network on both phones, but then how do I realize the connection between the phones ? When screening for the Wlan I can't find the public Ad-hoc network I have just created..I can see the threads are pretty old, maybe there is an existing application by now or a different way ?
Question is: Do I need any special application for them to communicate,if not what am I missing? Thanks guys.
