Identify devices uniquely?

Please help,
Is there a way to uniquely identiy a WAP enabled device? Is there a notion of an IP address for wireless devices?

WAP phones do not have an fixed IP address, instead this is assigned to the device dynamically by a DHCP server on connecting to the WAP gateway.

You can get information at the server side about the client such as what browser they are using and what there IP address is.
