Issue related to Unlock midlet for NFC Nokia 6131

I am still struggling to set GPRS enabled in UNlocked NFC 6131 phone such that Unlock midlet can talk to server and set the default keys in secured element.
Is there any plan from any service provider in USA which would enable GPRS ?
has anybody tried in USA and sucessful?

I'm also finding it impossible to unlock the secure element on the phone. I can access the internet from other midlets on the phone but the Unlock midlet always fails with "No Server Connection".

I've tried both an O2 Pay As You Go and Pay Monthly SIM.

I'm completely stuck - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi jdudmesh,

To unlock a 6131 phone, you have to connect to nokia server. So first you have to correclty configure the web-settings in your phone.

so please follow the steps.

1. Get the appropriate WEB settings for your phone (Nokia 6131) from your service provider (It can be selected from a list)

Nokia Online Websettings Provider ("https://nokiags.wdsglobal.com/standard?siteLanguageId=118")

2. The WEB settings will be sent as a service SMS. Save the web settings. You may have to enter a PIN that you get during settings request process.

3. Now goto Menu -> Settings -> Configuration -> Default Config. Settings and select the WEB settings you just downloaded.

4. Now select 'Menu -> Settings -> Configuration -> Activ. default in all apps' menu item to activate the downloaded WEB settings as the default settings to all apps.

5. Now goto 'Menu -> Web-> Settings -> Configuration Settings -> Configuration' and verify that the selected Configuration is the downloaded one. Else select the correct one.

6. Check the downloaded settings correctness by viewing a web page 'Menu -> Web-> Go To Address' and type http://google.com. You should get the web page.

I do have a working GPRS connnection. I can connect to web pages in the browser and other midlets I have installed can also access the internet.

When I start the applet the 'E' in the top right hand corner has a square around it which implies that it has connected to the internet but the application sits saying connecting to server and times out after several minutes.

I decompiled the midlet which is trying to access the following URL...

https://nfc-service.nokia.com/nfc/unlock?f2067726cd90

When I put this into the browser on the phone I get a "No Server Access" error and when I browse to it from FireFox I get a 403 forbidden error.

couple of additional questions:

1) Are you using WAP settings for the Access Point?

2) Are you using some prototype device?

3) Have you checked the instructions defined here by sunil?

This is a Nokia 6131 NFC running v5.11 firmware. I am using WAP settings and I can connect to the internet using other applets installed on the phone and I can connect to the internet via the built in web browser. I have tried settings downloaded from O2, from Nokia and ones I have constructed myself. I can only conclude that the problem is not related to the access point settings since these work correctly in all other respects.

The URL embedded in the unlock applet returns a 403 forbidden error when I browese to it which leads me to believe that the problem lies there.

according to our Unlock service responsibles, the service is running ok so the problem most likely lies in the access point settings.

.. I can connect to the internet via the built in web browser.

=> Unfortunately Internet access with phone browser is not a proof of correct settings for MIDlets.

The URL embedded in the unlock applet returns a 403 forbidden error when I browese to it which leads me to believe that the problem lies there.

=> According to our Unlock service responsibles: if one accesses the site with any browser you will get the 403 error regardless.

I was using an O2 Pay as You Go SIM. This morning I went out and bought an Orange PAYG SIM and successfully unlocked the phone.
