flash lite 2.0 (s40 - 6300 video)

Hi,

I am trying out some flash content on a nokia 6300. Very happy so far with it bar the video is there anyway at all to get the video on the phone(.3gp mpg enabled)

ive tried bundled unbundled.

can i throw it out on the timeline and thow the audio as well im not too fussed with the filesize.

I just need a proof of concept. Even if i somehow ended flash booted up the .3gp/mpg file and once done rebooted into flash.

Any help much appriciated...

as far as I know the S40 3rd Ed FP2 which has FL2 (your phone is based on this platform) does not support the video API to load video from external source.

What I found is that an embedded video into the swf will work but no audio.

Hi biserko,
that might work i have the audio in mp3 format. I can maybe get it to play along side it.

Do you have an example of this working? so i could copy the setting (especially the video settings)

just embed the 3gp video into the swf. You will not be able to get any sound working.

you wont believe this but it does actually work with sound. I embedded the .3gp and it works. The thing i did differently was that the camera actually take record 3gp at 177*144


so i remade my movie that scale with letterbox to keep aspect and thats what i inserted into the swf without any scaling on the stage and it worked.

not sure why but I was convinced you were trying to use video in wallpaper/screensaver content. If you try these type of content, audio won't work.

Hi mate,
No im trying to use it as standalone. I have come up against another problem though. The video is in slide1.swf and when i click on that from the phone it works perfect no problems.

i have a player swf with a MC on the main timeline that i load the slides swf in and people can click through the slides. however the video slides dont load into the player swf.

They arent any bigger in filesize than any other slide.

i use this call

player being the MC on the timeline

player.loadMovie(_root.slidesArray[_root.theCurrentSlide]+".swf");

is there a better call i could use that will load it in or are swf with bundled video only playable as standalone and not allowed to be loaded into Mc of other swfs.

I have been able to load external SWF containing video without a problem on 5300 (s40 fl2).

You might try using MovieClipLoader object to track status of load to verify that the SWF is loading.
