KErrAccessDenied (-21) when playing audio to uplink

Hi all,

I want to play audio to certain callers. I have already managed to answer the call, but when I call play(), my callback gets the -21.
I have seen that there are discussions in the C++ forums, and there was also a workaround (Using DRMplayer instead of the ordinary recorder).

Does anybody know the status of this issue in python?

It seems like we would need a new python extension that supports the following. Not sure if this is planned or in the works by anyone.

Using APS will also require MultimediaDD capability. This is due to a hard-coded Vendor ID check in the mixing policy between third-party players and the native telephony application."

If it requires the MultimediaDD capability it's pretty much hopless. As you can see here, MultimediaDD is granted only by Certified signing the app, which costs money, and I doubt anyone would be willing to pay just to have a Python extension.

You can make a feature request for this service to the PyS60 development team here if you really want to, but it will probably take a while to implement (that is, if it will be implemented).
