Creating DRM protected App: Problem using drmHelper APIs

My application crashes at the drmHelper instantiation.

CDRMHelper* drmHelper = CDRMHelper::NewLC( *CCoeEnv::Static() );

Please let me know if there will be any other things need to be done; before this instantiation?

Hi,

Even I am trying to use the CDRMHelper class to access rights object for a DRM protected SISX file. But for me too NewLC fails.
By doing some research i found that I need to add capabilities in my .mmp file in order to use the CDRMHelper functions.

Could someone please tell me what capabilities(other than DRM) i need to add for the same?

docs basically are not mentioning any, except that in some cases you would need DRM. Anyway, what is the error code generated ?
Also have you tried the other overwrites of the NewL for the API ?

I somehow remember that there would be a bug there.. not 100% sure though.

I am not getting any error code.. Application is crashing at the 'NewLC' execution. Even I have tried with 'NewL'. Is there any other stuff I need to do before calling\using NewLC\DRMhelper APIs?

Is there any documentation\sample code to protect S60 Applications with DRM 1.0?

I think it is crashing because I dont have DRM Capabilities for my Application. I may need to get the app Symbian Signed...

But, if anyone can let me know about common practises to implement DRM 1.0 (Separate Delivery) to protect a Symbian Application and some inside concepts related to DRM protection of application.

Because; DRM protection of an application may differ from DRM Protection of any media(image\audio etc..) in case of Separate Delivery; as user App need to check if the rights are expired or not and accordingly App will pop-up a UI to notify the user.
