Adding a new Option menu item for SMS messages

Hi,
I am looking for a way to add a new Option when an SMS message is being displayed. I want this menu item to appear when a SMS message is being viewed or when I am viewing the SMS inside Inbox. So basically, I want to extend the existing UI Data provided by the SMS MTM.

Is this even possible? I have pursued the possibility of writing my own MTM (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...eWTlp1rubRz-20) . I have tried all sorts of tweaking with QueryCapabilities and OptionSupported but the callbacks are never called when inside the Inbox.

99,8% sure that it's not possible.

Extending the messaging apps and capabilities can only be done via MTMs. Generally speaking extending any built-in application is usually impossible, and there are good reasons for it.

So does this mean, I _can_ extend the Options menu by writing a MTM? I am prepared to write a MTM, if need be. It is very limiting that one cannot extend the Local Service or an Existing service.
