Python Beginner Help Please

Hi,

I am trying to write a chat application using python. I am new to symbian programming. I am wondering how can I split the screen into two parts. The top part will contain non-editable text with a scroll bar. and the lower part will be a text box where user can enter the message. One of the softkeys should be "Send". Is this even possible using python? Or should I directly learn symbian c++ programming?

Hi anantgarg and welcome to the Fantasic Python Dibo ,

There are no ready made extensions for your requirement.
You could possibly exploit the topwindow module to some extent, but it wont provide you with scrollbars. You may want to work on native C++ to get your requiremnt on Pys60.

its great that u want to make such a nice application in python.
but i m really sorry that what u want to do is actually not possible in python u have to divert towards symbian c++ and work out there.
hope u will do that and will not leave the application.
