Nokia Phone as USB Master

Hi all,

I need to connect a peripheral USB device to a Nokia phone via USB - Pop-Port for reading and writing data, and manage connection following the steps provided in:

Power is not a problem, the other device has an alternative for that, so my question is: Can I connect these two devices following that steps? Do I need one of the devices acting like a host?
