problem with playing *.mp4 files.

Hi all,

I am currently trying to play a mp4 file which is in my server. i am able to play it only after the whole download of the video file is complete. but i want to start playing the file as soon as possible, i mean to say like playing chunks after downloading some bytes of data instead of playing after download completes. if any1 having idea about it, please help me... i am totally stuck'd....

Hi sis1986,
I think you want to stream contents.

How are you fetching the file from server ??
Is it Player p = Manager.createPlayer("http://myServer/../myFile.mp4") ;
If so than it's no streaming. Use "RTSP" instead of "HTTP". But make sure that your handset has support for RTSP.

the thing is i want to do it in http, & i m not using the statement as u have stated, i am opening url using connector & then playing it using i/pStream, is ther some thing, that i start playing after few bytes are downloaded....
