some clarification needed on UNI - 09 test case

Dear All,

I have some doubt on test case UNI - 09 of symbian signing

the test case tells to install the application on memory card and insert the memory card on other phone and the application should start working...

how this can happen, application will be signed for one IMEI and if I put on other phone having different IMEI number, its natural that it will not work.

can anybody give some more explanation on this test case

"Symbian signed" and "Application will be signed for one IMEI" are mutually exclusive things.
DevCert (restricted to one or some IMEI-s) needs no testing. Symbian signed needs no IMEI.
Executing this test case with a single-IMEI is a different thing, however you can install your application to the memory card, remove the memory card, format the device, insert the memory card.

I have some other querry related to this test case.

I have installed my application on memory card of one device and and then i took that memory card on other device. my application does not install automatically.(not even seen in application menu of device) if i see in application manager, it shows it as myapplication.sis "not installed" status.

then my application fails on symbian signing as application not working on other device

how can i make my application clear this test case.

Make sure that all the files listed in the *.pkg are installed on the same drive, in this case the E: drive.

In general, have a look at the documentation about pre-installed applications and the requirements for such a package since for all intents and purposes once installed on the memory card your application should behave as such.
