Ensymble problem

Okay, I've managed to get the damn py file into a sis and installed it

I thought all was well, but now when I go to open it.. it just flashes for a second and the app doesn't open.

Any ideas?

2. Search this forum for "exception harness" to find out how to troubleshoot these kinds of problems.

I used the following code in cmd:

python emsymble.py py2sis --verbose script.py script.sis

I think thats it.. (from memory)

The OpenSSL command line files were in the folder to save you asking the question :P

I think it's all right... That's why I can't understand why it's not working.

Python is installed, along with the shell.

The application is installed on the same drive.

I am having trouble finding things to help with this "exception harness". I'm going to keep looking though.

Here is the exception harness method that you were looking for.

I just added it to the Wiki with the title "Exception Harness" so that it can be found easily.

im having a similar problem. My sis is created.. and i get it signed using open signed online. they sent me back the signed script and i installed it but when i open it just a blank white screen comes up..

i only put simple print"xx" statements in it to see if it worked as it was my first time signing something.

When i installed it on my e65 i just clicked the icon and nothing came up.

Any ideas, THANKS

edit: here is the line i signed it with

python ensymble.py py2sis --verbose loc.py loctest.sis
i was assigned an auto generated uid by ensymble.

Hi ComplexT,

The standalone application will not be able to print as in the interpreter.
So you get the white screen.

Use the code below to print in an standalone application

tx=appuifw.Text()
appuifw.app.body=tx
tx.add(u"Hello")

Are there any othe restrictions? My app just opens and closes when i have it installed.. where when testing it in interpreter etc that didnt happen.

I know its basic output statements, but would like to have a look at it.
