Best Icon types supported by Midp2

Hi,
What are the best icon types supported by Midp2 devices.
I tried svg but it didnt work. PNG is not that good a quality .
Is there any way to optimize the icon or use some higher quality icon type for midp2

i am specifically looking for "best icon types" like SVG or something else supported by nokia. PNG is fine but not the best.
I read that svg is not supported.... just want to confirm my reading ..

svg is not supported on the current devices. Your best bet is PNG. See also here

On S60 3rd Edition FP2 devices you should be able to use SVG icons
