Timer in j2me

Hi all ,
I am using j2me its working fine but once my mobile is switched off the timer is not working . Please can any body help me.

If mobile is switched off J2me apps are not running, so how can any J2me code (Timer included) be executed?

The only thing that can run is the inbuilt alarmclock of the phone, this will also work when the mobile is shut down...
