    Hello,

I'm trying to sign a symbian application to nokia E61i. I use SDK 3rd Edition for S60.

Firstable, I follow the instructions that appear on https://www.symbiansigned.com/how_do...signed_2.5.pdf, but the makesis operation responds with "signature ignore, this option is deprecated".

After that, I found this link : http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.ph...ning_sis_files
I have tried to sign the application with signsis tool and the process ends without errors. However, when I install the sisx files into my mobile, the invalid certification message is shown on screen.

    Thanks for your responses.

PD: The publisher ID is valid, it was sent from TrustCenter two weeks ago.

What is the exact error message that you got when installing on the device? Is it one of these messages, http://blogs.forum.nokia.com/blog/an...60-3rd-edition ?

I use the makesis tool to sign the sis file:

    signsis myapp.sis myapp.sisx mycert.cer mykey.key

and when I try to install the sisx file, I get the certificate error message (first error in the page).

You sign your sis file with a Publisher ID in order to state that you own it, just before you submit it to Symbian Signed. There is however no statement anywhere that your Published ID signature allows the application to be installed on the phone, is there? It will be Symbian Signed's countersigning that gives you access to the device.

Then, when I submit the application to symbian signed I get a message error "The sis file doesn't contain the publisher id".

That document is old and not too smart either. In fact it specifies that the example PKG file there used there is for UIQ (probably UIQ 2.x) and therefore there is no surprise that if you follow it ad literam you will run into problems.

Have you checked the *.pkg file format in the SDK documentation? What does it say about the statement that allows you to declare the certificates in the *.pkg?

In Symbian OS 9.x / S60 3rd Edition you use the signsis.exe to sign the file. As for verifying the signature you will find two solutions here but you can also use
    Code:
    signsis -o <yourfile>.sis[x]
