Newbie Q. about carbide.c++ v1.3 not having templates for S60 2nd FP2

Hi,

Can I add templates to Carbide.c++? If yes, where can I find the S60 2nd Edition FP2 templates? Carbide.c++ v1.3 does not seam to include application templates for S60 2nd Edition FP2(Symbian OS v8.0a).

I am trying to follow the tutorials to create my first "hello world" application. I want to develop the application for a Nokia 6682 based on S60 2nd Edition FP2(Symbian OS v8.0a). However, when I go through the wizard in Carbide.c++ v1.3 for creating a New Symbian OS C++ Project, I only get GUI application templates for S60 3rd Ed. As I understand, these templates are not enabled with S60 2nd Ed. SDK.

How do I create an S60 2nd Ed. application with Carbide.c++ v1.3?

Well, Carbide.c++ 1.3 works with S60 3rd edition development. You should download Carbide.c++ v1.2.

As i can see from the mailing list, you also received a mail from Carbide team. If not then, they say that it will be available soon but it may take some time.

Also from the mailing list, there was a suggestion to try to use 1.3 and give them a feedback(They say that its not tested for earlier SDK, but none of the features were explictly removed) I must admit that havent had a chance to test it personally though.

You can't create new Project for pre-v3.x SDKs but you may be able to import them.

Yes true. I was suggesting the import, as template for new projects for pre-3rd ed is not available to create new project.
