Your query better explains the reason. You are trying to access a death thread.

I am not sure in which context you are facing this problem. Anyhow try catching the thread death using RUndertaker.

Please refer "How to use a thread-death notifier" in the documentation.

I would rather play a soundfile using the audio module, rather than using the misoalarm.

I agree with croozeus, its easier to do that then use miso alarm.
