getting PUTools working

Greetings,

I've developed a small application in Python which is running fine on my nokia 6600. I always send the file via bluetooth and run the application (after installing it of course). This is quite time consuming because I need to reinstall the app. every time I have made an adjustment. Solution:PUTools

I am stuck here:

# Start the Python Utility Shell on the PC (still in putools/pcfiles, type python push from the command line).
* (With some drivers, such as Widcomm, it doesn't matter which one you start first, some others like Microsoft require you start the PC application first.)


Could some please explain what I need to do exactly:-). Many thanks!

I use the PC suite to push files to my Mobile device.
Moreover you don not need to make SIS packages of your script everytime you want to test it on the device. Just use the PY files on your device and run/test them with the Python Interpreter.

Once you have the final code ready then you can make SIS files of it.

Actually I'm searching for a more powerful option like Eclipse is for Java. Auto completion is also nice feature but that isnt't critical to me.
What I do like is something more straightforward: I would like to type code and without pushing or transferring files I would to run it (like eclipse compiles a Java project and nicely runs it).

This leaves me with 2 option: 1) I need a way to directly edit the scripts on the phone using my computer and a way to 'give' an execute script x.py command to the phone, which in turn would show the output on the computer.

Or 2) A good emulator would suffise also. I have been unable to get either working

Hi Croozeus, I just wanted to thank you for you help again. I've got the bluetooth connection working also. I feel it works smoother than the emulator. Too bad my phone only supports one BT connection whilst my app would have to connect to a gps also.
