Ok I got problem with symbian signed

My app uses resolver plugin, I Read from wiki that ecom plugin uid
must be from unprotected area. So my plugin uses unprotected uid what I get from symbiansigned.

Anyway when I try to send packet to symbian test it fails and says something like "Unprotected UID/SID: uidhere. Symbian Signed requires that signed v9 SIS files only use UID from the protected range that have been allocated from www.symbiansigned.com. This also includes the UID used in the corresponding .pkg file.

so what I can do? I have tried to use that resolver in protected range, but then phone doest load it. any good ideas?

    thanks

Can you indicate the page mentioning that the UID must be unprotected?

When you read something from the wiki remember to pass it through the filter of your brain. What could be the reason for the UID to be unprotected? I cannot think of any such reason.

Due to self-signing, the UID of this interface must be from the unprotected range

seems that i didnt read it right... very strange that I didnt get it work when I tried protected range when I changed it back to unprotected it worked right away. need to test it again tomorrow

Make sure you change all the UID3/SID references, in all the files: mmp, rsg, ...

P.S. I've fixed the Wiki page.

Yes, Everything on WIKI is not supposed to be true, also resolver mostly is implemented in dll, why would it be different than other dll's or exe's in case of UID.

dunno why I dont get this working... when I change uid to protected range ecom fw doesnt find it only what startup says is

    10.610 SIP Client Resolver: Plug-in with 'default_data': 101F9515
    10.610 SIP Client Resolver: Plug-in status: 0
    10.610 SIP Client Resolver: ROM-based plug-ins count: 1
10.675 SIP Client Resolver: All plug-ins count: 1

and there isnt my uid on that list, if I use unprotected I can see it on bootup
edit: and yes I have deleted those ecom files

I hope yuou are not using the recognizer to start your application on boot. That technique is deprecated and will not work on FP1 and alter devices.
