no experience. want to learn. what this be a hard project to start with?

Hi guys. I really am interested in developing applications for S60, right now just for the fun of it and to solve my own application requests. I have no experience with computer programming, although i am a fast learner and i'm experienced with html. not sure if that will help. I have a few questions.

I am looking for a good place to start, and i've been reading that python is a really easy code to learn. Is this forum a good place to start? or is their another website with guides and tutorials.

My first application. Is this possible with Python?

I want to create a simple application that really won't need much of an interface, its more for function.

I own a N82, and as you know it doesn't have any dedicated music buttons. i would like to enhance the current ones to work as music buttons.

here's what i want

volume up/down buttons - long press (maybe 2 seconds) = change tracks

gallery button - long press = play/pause/launch music player to forefront.

and thats it. is this something that can be done with python?

Hi mikealive and welcome to the world of PyS60,

Using PyS60 you can detect keypresses as well as you can simulate keypress by using the Keypress module of Cyke64.

As you are a newbie to PyS60 I would suggest you to go through the links which nuker85 suggested and especially the Forum Nokia Wiki : PyS60 Section which contains many good articles including CODE snippets and How tos..
