Draw over Media player

Hi all,
I have the following challenge,
I have a media player which plays 3gp files very nice.
However when the user hits a button i wish to stop the player and draw a menu over the canvas. I have looked into the overlaycontroll but that did not do the job.
Is there a solution?

Hi,

as you say, you should use OverlayControl to draw images on top of video/still images. But, as stated here:

not all phones supporting JSR 234 support OverlayControl. From the linked thread:

Even if the phone supports jsr234 it is not mandatory that all the controls are supported.U have to be careful about this.

As an example, for S60 3rd ed FP1 (don't know if It's your case):

The OverlayControl is not available on S60 3rd Edition FP1 phones. The AMMS implementation on those phones support Music and 3D Audio packages

Yes - this could indeed be the case here. Our test phone is a Nokia N95.
