Getting started with sockets

Hi,

I want to build an app which needs socket and I'm currently looking for an example to learn how to implement sockets.

I found some postings where examples were suggested but I couldn't find them in the S60 SDK Maintenance Release.

Could anyone give me a tip, which of the by the SDK provided examples contains sockets?

I don't know wheather u have this sdk but I have seen an example in 2nd edition.you can find both tcp/ip and secure socket example there
path:
\Symbian\8.0a\S60_2nd_FP2_CW\Examples\networking

Other than SDK, you would find goos examples on Forum Nokia Documentation.

Also search for better term on Forum Nokia Wiki, you would find enough good results to work with.

Unfortunately this example isn't provided with my SDK. Maybe I should have mentioned that I'm using S60 3rd.

The Symbian OS: End-to-End Sockets API Example v1.3 looks very promising. I think I'll check this one out first.

If you use anything S60 3rd edition, you can check S60Ex\Chat. It shows TCP/IP (and RFCOMM/BT).
