Syndication Widget Source Code

Hi,

How can I get the source code of the standard RSS feed widgets used on the widsets site.

I want to create a simple rss feed based widget, slightly different from the ones generated by the online wizard.

Is there a way to download the source of widgets created using the wizard?

However, that example is not very useful. It does not actaully display the RSS feed. I've managed to build a widget based on that example that displays the feed, but it does not look as good as the one that can be created using the wizard on the widget site.

I'm actually surprised that Nokia have not shared the source of that widget at least?

Full syndication widget is quite complicated and not suitable for example.

However I can help you if you have any specific issues about your widget.

Syndication widget consists of following views:
1) Feed list selection (if multiple feeds have been configured in widget.xml)
2) Item list (subjects)
3) Item view (displaying item text and images)

By default syndication services gives 500 bytes of content for each item, and more is requested by the widget when user scrolls to the end of the text currently loaded in widget.

You can load all content at once by defining len=all for getItems service:

And yeah, how you want it to be different, is the change logical or graphical?

If latter, you can just create templated widget manually:

All you need is widget.xml and your image files, zip them and upload.
