add a menu item to a n70 native app

Hi, I'm new to symbian and I've to do that. I want to add a menu item to the message n70 standard application that call some code I wrote(this have to add a new tab that is my app). Can anyone give me a link to some tutorial about that or a nokia whitepaper? Thanks in advance to all!

Not really possible, only exceptions are applications that do have extensions framework, such as Messaging can be extended via custom MTM implementations.

Not possible, with out getting very high capability, even you write a MTM you must have ALL-TCB capability
