using GPRS with Nokia 8310 with windows XP pro

Every time I use Modem_Setup_for_Nokia_8310.exe to install the phones drivers, XP will pick my phone up as a fashion phone, I cant c a way to stop my Infra red from auto detecting my phone so I can manually install the Nokia software, I know this sound like a XP problem, but any ideas on how to install 8310 on XP

I cant find anyway to disable the "Enable Plug and Play" option for infra red, ive looked in device manager and almost everywhere.

Have you tried disabling the "Enable Plug and Play" option in your infra red??

This should fix your problem. You can turn it on again after you have installed your drivers.

I have the same problem. I think that Modem_setup_for_Nokia_8810.exe is not compatible with XP pro.
