SMS service of ME reserved

Does any one can tell me more information on this error code 301: "SMS service of ME reserved", what is the actual meaning?

Thie is the error returned from my application when I try to read a message from myNokia 8250.

This means that the phone is occupied doing propably something
SMS related, receiving or waiting for an acknowledgement from the network and is unable to receive AT-commands at the moment.
This state should pass by within some time. Unless this doesn't
happen, rebooting the phone is the ultimate solution.
