    Hi,

I wanted to use express signed for the first but when I click on "submit" it throws this error.

But before uploading it to express signed I changed all UID to one I requested from the protected range. I made these changes in the .pkg, .mmp and _reg.rss files. Did I oversee a place where the UID occurs? I thought I got each.

    Thanks
    Simon

check the UID range documentation from symbian signed, basically you can use 0xAXXXXXXX UIDs only for self-signed applications

But I don't want to self sign. I want to express sign my app, therefore I got an UID starting with 0x2.... as told in the symbian signed guide.

obviously the tool fins something else in your submitted package otherwise it would not complain. Btw, in your first post you have forgot to insert the actual error message ...

    Check all your binaries with
    Code:
    elftran -dump h <file_name>.[dll|exe]
and see if the UIDs are in the proper range. Check also the PKG uid.

Well, the error message looks like this:
    File name: AloqaCellMonitor.zip

    Submitted: False

    Message:
Unprotected UID/SID: eee3c37c. Check that all the UIDs used in your SIS (including the UID used in your .pkg) file correspond to those allocated to you by Symbian from www.symbiansigned.com.
I tried elftran and it gives me these UIDs.
    Code:
    Built against EKA2
    Uids: 1000007a 00000000 eee3c37c (5bbd43e7)
eee3c37c is the one I used during development to self sign my app but as I said I thought a replaced every occurance with one from the 0x2... range. How to happen that this changes doesn't get recognised??

Have you cleaned and rebuild the project after replacing the UIDs?

I think that the eee3c37c UID is test range UID ?

Maybe you should change it to be on the correct rage.

You can always cleanup by hand: remove your xy.exe manually from epoc32\release\gcce\urel, and also the temporary files under epoc32\BUILD\<path to your project>.

Thanks, this seems to have solved the problem. Well I still can't sign my application as I'm getting now:

But at least I'm not the only one facing this error. There are several people complaining about this on the symbian forum.
