Portrait/landscape mode on N95. How turn on/off auto rotation function?

N95 have build in rotation sensor and last firmware have setting for automatic rotation screen when phone rotated.
How I can stop/start this automatic rotation from my background application that all other foreground applications not rotates portrait/landscape?
I need sometimes lock portrait mode and unlock after. How I can lock it not for my application only, and for all system and all applications?
Can I operate this device setting to turn it on/off? Any other ways?

I don't think that there would be any nice ways on disabling it for all application (and in N95), but you can always define in your own application that it would be using only one layout, thus it would not be efected on the change.
