I thought the current mobile phone could display better graphics effect than it is,so I made a technical prototype to test my idea. The result is quite nice,I coded a demo which can display very large map with very less memory. For example,It can display a 32768*32768 map(the map will be more than 4G disk size)run smoothly on mobile phone with less 4M memory(In theory and actual it is,the only limit is the MMC storage size),and all this can be displayed mor than 30fps even on a Nokia N70.

here is a playable demo, which can be run on:
    Nokia QD,Nokia 3230,Nokia 7610,Nokia 6680,Nokia N70

    here is:

The technology could run on Symbiam 3rd phones also, but I don't have a 3rd phone on my hand,so only support for old phones.

The demo contain the map of Beijing,China.which is 4096*4096 texture resolution.

This is an old thread, but I wish you will read this mrTony.

I've downloaded your demo, but it panicked when I tried to run it. Should I copy the map.data anywhere? How to run your demo?

Found it, just place the map.data in the root directory of memory card.
