Okay, boss has just handed me a Symbian mobile. I am in the UK and this model is not available here - this particular device was bought through a client from Sweden.
I have tried to connect to the internet using GSM dial up and the device almost immediately returns with a 'No answer' error.
The phone number and settings appear correct. If I dial the number using the device as a mobile phone I get the modem answering fine.
Can anyone tell me if a swedish purchased symbian device should be able to connect via dial up to the internet in the UK, or are there special gateway/network requirements of the network provider (my sim is O2).
I'm a software developer, not a network/comms/symbian guru so please accept my apologies if this is a no-brainer!!!
Any urgent help appreciated.
Cheers,
Stew
