N70 install fails

Hi,

When we install the Midlet on N70, it says Authroization failed. Where as the same midlet gets installed on N73 perfectly.

Is there any difference between N70 and N73 in installing midlets with the following permissions

Is there any document from Nokia, which explains the constrains related to Signed and Unsinged midlets interms of
- Install time restrictions
- API related restrictions
- Any preformance
- On device debuging restrictions etc

Hi,

can you please specify the permissions you're using in your midlet (they're missing in your previous message)? Also, try posting the content of your JAD file, so that It'll be possible to check for possible issues.

Hello nagkumar,

there's this Forum Nokia Wiki article on Java Security Domains:

The basic difference being with these devices is that N70 is a S60 2nd Edition, Feature Pack 3 device and N73 is a S60 3rd Edition device. You might want to check the API access settings accordingly (from the article, under 'API access settings on real phones').

Otherwise, more info is required as defined by jappit.

Nope the issue was due to jad file property did not had space after :
STORE_MODE:RMS - was wrong and got corrected to
STORE_MODE: RMS

Nokia was correct as per the JavaME spec, however other phones like N73 was tollerant.
