Python for S60 1.4.4 released but again based upon backdated Python 2.2.2

Its a very good news that Python for S60 1.4.4 is released. But it is still based upon Python 2.2.2 where the current python release is Python 2.5.2 . I know it doesn't matter that much cause Python 2.2.2 is still available for public and using it never bites. But I am afraid it wont be for a long time. Again there was a chance to port to the new version before this release(Python for S60 1.4.4).

We always want out favorite things updated as much as possible.

And indeed you are absolutely correct that every one wants that their favorite things keeps on updating.

hope for the best that our PyS60 also gets a soon update if not upto 2.5 then something near to that.

Indeed there have been many improvements with 2.5.

Please bump this request up to a higher priority as many have been asking for over a year now.

Can someone tell whats the process for making Python for S60 support most of the standard Python 2.5 modules? Means how do we port it from Python 2.2 to Python 2.5?
