ad hoc network with j2me

Hi all,

i'm interested in create a real wifi ad hoc application with j2me. So the messages could be routing between devices. To do this, every device needs to know your neighborhood. What I need to know is:
How can I discovery all connected devices (with wifi) like sevicediscovery in bluetooth???
Is there any ad hoc routing algorithm implemented in MIDP??

You have no such control/access from MIDP. AFAIK there are no JSRs covering specifically Wi-Fi/WLAN in any for (how the network connecting is established is abstracted away from Java, so at most you just might get an access point selection dialog, or the option to always use a specific access point, which may or may not be a WLAN access point).

You might be able to do more of what you want by switching to Symbian/S60 application development using C++.

ok.. I imaginated that isn't possible use wi-fi to do this, with c++ symbian, I think is possible, perhaps I would like an interoperability routing module,
So I'm investigating use just bluetooth!!!
To do this, I need to know if is possible that a device run as master/slave bluetooth at the same time and if I could remove the security advices when users are exchanging messages.

did you find any solution to create wifi application and finding network as i want to make the same application but not able to do that so please let me know what to study as this is most important for my MSC project

As stated above, not possible with Java. You have to use symbian.

if it isn't possible to use ad hoc network in J2ME, is it possible in Python.
