headset recognization/usage - how?

hi,

i'm wondering if it's possible to detect a headset with java.

I want let the user choose if he wants to use internal phone speaker or headset (if connected).

I thought maybe to use JSR-135 (MMAPI) but I don't find any hints in the API docs.

Please see this article, which suggests to use Advanced Multimedia Supplements (JSR 234) for Media output direction, the ability to choose whether audio is played through a speaker or headset.
