Infrared connectivity problems between 9210 and PC with Windows XP

The question of Nokia Communicator 9210 being unable to communicate with a PC with Windows XP via infrared is not exactly new. However, since same questions from other forum participants went unanswered, I thought I would repeat it - hoping that someone might have an answer. Dowloading and installing updated PC Suite (version of December 02, 2002)- allegedly compatible with XP- did not solve the problem. Any attention and suggestions for solution are most appreciated (especially coming from Nokia team)
