Symbian setting related issue.

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!

Initially I have installed the SDK for the 3rd and 2nd edition
But latter uninstalled the SDK for 2nd edition.
Problems is that when i put the command ""devices"" on the command prompt
both SDK version are visible on there What may be resion???


Second when i want to import some sdk example project first time on
workspace ,during the browsing in c/symbian folder it again show the
7.0(2nd SDK) but not 9.1(3rd SDK) .Why it so??

I am little bit confuse and can u guide??

Maybe because the entry of both the SDKs is still present in devices.xml

Could it be possible that you have unstalled the 3rd ed and you think it was the 2nd ed that you unstalled ?

hi pankaj
why dont you manually delete the 2nd edition folder from the c:/symbian directory so that the sdk will get completely uninstalled and you will not face any problem.

already i have unistalled the 2nd edition SDk, and folder deleted from c:/Symbian/..
But still it shown on command prompt while entring ""device "" command.
Meil can u please briefly explain me device .xml??

Not having the environment on this machine, but dir devices.xml /s at the root will give you the results, here you will have the list of SDKs installed. I think thats where the command "devices" and IDE probably understand that the SDK is installed as listed in this XML file

devices.xml can be found in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\

Yes, if you have un-installed the SDK and for some reason the entry is still there in devices.xml, then you can safely remove that entry, but retain the other SDKs which are still installed and would be used.
