Installing signed application in 6210 Navigator

Hi

I tried to instl the signed applicaion on 6210, there i am getting an error certificate error contact the application supplier

I have done the setting as
Application manager->settings->Software installation->all
Application manager->settings-> online certificate check->off

Please give me the suggestions

Which certificate are you using for signing? Does the corresponding root certificate exist on the phone (note that you cannot install a code/Java ME signing certificate on your phone)?

Hi, we also have the same problem. The device date and time is set properly and the certificate we are using is Thawte. The SW version is the same as that of Deepa msc's.

I also have the same issue. I have used Thawte certs, checked device dates, application settings and cert trust options etc and have the same SW as Deepa Msc's and the Thawte root certificate is installed on the phone.

Note:
My "Signed" application installs fine on Nokia 6110's and N95's, but fails with the Nokia 6210.

My "unsigned" application installs fine on the 6210.

Even a simple "Signed", "Hello world" fails with the same error, so that rules out any features my application is trying to access that are no longer available on the 6210.

Any ideas?

What are the trust settings of the Thawte MIDP certificate on the phone?
(that can be found under Options when you are checking the authority certificate list)

There is a "Thawte Premium Server CA" and "Thawte Server CA" certificate with the following options (NB: there is no "Thawte MIDP" certificate on the phone).

I have switched these settings on and off with no result.

There are 4 MIDP2 certs from other vendors (2 x Nokia, 1 x GeoTrust and 1 x Verisign)

Ok, so Thawte MIDlet signing certificate is not unfortunately available on your phone (or the regional version of the phone firmware).
Unfortunately there are these regional, operator and phone model level differences between available certificates.

Thanks Hartti. I checked the 6110 and N95 certs and they both have MIDP2 Thawte Premium certs on them, hence my app installs fine on them.

I thought my app was validated against the "Thawte Premium Server CA" cert only... Appears not to be the case.

I assume my best option is to switch to Verisign certificates?

So conclusion: You can use only Verisign signed midlets with in 6210, Thawte is not supported.

It seems to be the first really important phone what I've found that does not have the Thawte MIDP certificate (of course there are motorolas, some samsungs etc). Question to Nokia - can I hope that this is firmware bug and it will be fixed in short timeframe, with newer releases?

Firmware updates do not add certificates on the phone. That requires special equipments.
In addition, there are differencies in included certificates between phone models. There is also regional differencies and some operators require different set of certificates on the phone.
