The problem about the AHLE Example

Hi all:
I downloaded the SDK api plugin: API Plug-in for the S60 3rd Edition SDK for Symbian OS, for C++, MR

and I tried to test the example program : "Adaptive History List API", but it cann't work on N73.

Can anyone help me to solve this problem? Thanks very much.

What happens when you try using it in your device ?
Any error codes you could get out, or other stuff that could help determining what goes wrong with it.

Also which SDK did you use for compiling it ?

I use the SDK: S60 3rd MR，and signed the sis file with certificate/key pair.

I found that the program has been shut down in the line:

iAhle = CAHLE::NewL();

The leave code is: -46

Please help me....

-46 is KErrPermissionDenied, So check what capabilities you have in your application.

AHLE plugin works fine for S60 3rd and 3rd FP1 but I am facing problem on S60 3rd FP2. Has anyone tried AHLE on S60 3rd FP2 ??

Problem:
Different AHLE plugin packages are available for S60 3rd, 3rd FP1 and 3rd FP2.
The plugin package for S60 3rd initial or MR uses ahleclient.lib and provides overloaded API:

CAHLE::NewL()
aDatabase - Database name (defaults to predefined name for URL DB)
CAHLE::NewL(const TDesC& aDatabase)

We can easily use the first one which automatically takes the default database.

Now, the plugin packages for S60 3rd FP1 and 3rd FP2 uses ahle2client.lib which have the API:

MAHLEGenericAPI* NewAHLEClientL(const TDesC& aDatabaseName)

Here, we need to mendatorily specify the database name and the documentation nowhere contains the default database name????

For S60 3rd FP1 the plugin package for S60 3rd initial (ahleclient.lib) also works but it doesn't work on S60 3rd FP2 so ahle2client.lib need to be used which has the above problem???

I am trying to do exactly the same thing! Have you been able to find what is the database name? I noticed a RecentUrlStore.db file in the private folder, and trying some different combinations of this...

Please try this link or serach 'symbian c++ + Adaptive_History_List' in google.AHLE for both 3rd_ed_FP2 and 5th editions are same. you can try this for either FP2 or 5th editions.
