    Hey people

ive just tried to install a little app of mine to my phone but ive come across an error... when i use pc suite to install it the phone say teh application is incompatible.

ive been using netbeans to create teh app and used a standard midp project using cldc 1.1 and midp 2.1 with the wireless toolkit plug-in that netbeans provides, but yet after cleaning and building the jad/jar cannot install.

any ideas? im clearly doing something wrong here

Have you gone through these articles? They do a pretty good job of explaining the signing procedure.

Between the two? Signing and certificate?
Certificate is something you use to create the signature (sign) your application (the certificate and the application content is used to create a unique signature in the JAD file).
And you need to get the certificate from a trusted CA (Certificate Authority) to sign your MIDlet (and the corresponding root certificate has to be on the phone).

Or what were you exactly asking?

basically my problem is that i cant install my app on my phone and id like to know how other people manage it without having to pay rediculous ammounts of money to these trusted CAs.

what i really need to know is how to bring my application from netbeans to my phone as literaly building it and putting the jar on my phone does not work

You don't need to sign Java applications for an N95 8GB, so all you need are the free tools available (Nokia's Java SDKs, NetBeans).
