Problem with SIP on GPRS on some Series60 devices.

I have tested a list of nokia phones to run SIP over GPRS and WLAN.
I fould out that some phones (possibly related to their firmware) unable to initiate or receive sip calls over GPRS.
I am trying to figure out if I am making a mistake on the settings.
I installed "SIP VoIP Settings" apllication to all test platforms and I have Ethreal running on my server side.

-An E65 runs perfectly on GPRS can make calls receive calls. V1 firmware.
On the screen of the device I see both Edge sign and Phone over the world sign.

Following devices failed on GPRS. The SIP section shows registered but the phone over the world sign is missing.
SIP signal captures Include Successful registration messaging.
Devices even sends periodical CRLF messages to the sip server. All devices are configured to register on WCDMA in the SIP VoIP settings application.
1) E65 with V2, E65 with V3, E66 (102.07.81), E71, N95
The capture shows that, when a call initiated to the nokia phone from the server the nokia device responds with a trying then an immediate Busy (487). This should be something related with the sip application. It also can not make out bound calls no Invite messages are send from the nokia phone.

I am stuck here.
I am in desperate need of help to resolve this issue.

This is a development related issue.

We are trying to compile a sisx file for client provisioning and also trying to construct the right xml document for it.

I need to make the sisx file consistent among different nokia S60 phones that support VoIP.

Currently different phones act different where some work on GPRS Edge and some don't.
Note: WCDMA VoIP calls are allowed in the xml file

I have E71 and rather disappointed that it cannot connect to SIP while on GPRS connection. This is not VOIP limitation as many 3rd party apps do work properly.

Any advice?

I recently purchased an E90, which is a high-end device. I am quite enraged about Nokia deciding to disallow SIP over EDGE without an option for the user to change it.

In North America, the E90 can only connect over EDGE as it doesn't support the 3G bands here. So mobile SIP is not an option! This is huge feature-loss beyond published Symbian offering and if 3rd party solutions like Fring allow SIP over EDGE, I would like to be able to use the built-in client as well.

Dear Sirs, i have the same problem . pls. if you find some issue about that let me know it too.

I set a SIP profile to my new NOKIA E71 and I can use it normally, "Incoming" and "Outgoing" calls are OK,
I can use it perfectly over WI-FI or in 3G connection and my Internet tel. is registered perfectly, BUT HOW CAN I USE IT IN EDGE OR IN GPRS CONNECTION.

I have the same problem in my E63. I am not able to do the SIP over GPRS. How comes the third software, for instance, Skype for Symbian can do the Skype over GPRS.

To Development Engineering Staff, please confirm whether the SIP over GPRS function has already been removed from the feature list. If not, please advise us how to have SIP over GPRS.
