    Hi,
    I am working on application in which I am using::
    result = semaphore.CreateGlobal(KTimeServerSemaphoreName, 0);


    When on device debugging is done....... the application throws::
    Signal Exception 0 received: A data abort exception has occurred............




    please help...............

    the issue posted is more to do with TRK, than with the createSemaphore().
    I too am trying to use the MetroTRK, for on device debugging, and getting the same error, in a totally different scenario... any thoughts?

    I'm getting this same error, but don't know righly where the problem is..
    I don't use semaphores in my application.
    It look likes a TRK bug.

    Check that resource file is valid - all icon files and strings it refers are present, and it's format is correct. It solved problem in my case with similar exception inside CAppUi::BaseConstructL()
