    if the mobile support java(MIDP 2.1) but in the http response no jar or jad mime types are indicated as accepted mime types ,what may be the reason for this?

    Sending a huge accept header with all request doesn't make too much sense so the servers should be looking for phone's UAProf profile and extract the details from there.

    Is that WAP server hosted by Forum Nokia? If not, I fail to see how this constitutes feedback on Forum Nokia's services ...

    i got similar complains again for the same handset type.
    let me explain the issue further as i got more idea about it.when looking the index.php file in the server for this application i noticed that it is only defined for MIDP 1.0 and 2.0. if i'm correct Nokia 2630 belongs to MIDP 2.1. when we ask from vendor side they said even though the handset should support this application.By tracing a download we found there is no "text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor" or similar mime type indicated in the http "GET" request from the mobile.
    My problem is if the handset support JAVA then why isn't it requesting "JAD" file(why no suitable mime indicate). when trying to download it displays unsupported file format. i have include the "JAD" file for a succesful download done by Nokia6600.

    Could be that the server is not sending the proper mime type along the file in this "confusing" situation.

    The MIDlet-Version strings seems to a little incorrect, (should be either 1.0 or 1.0.0), but I do not think this causes the problem.

    hi all,

    is it necessary to mention the correct mime time in the GET request from the mobile? if so how mobile knows that it is going to request a java file? in my case in GET request for jad file,the accepted mime types are as follows(for unsuccessful download from Nokia 2630);
    Accept: application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc, text/vnd.wap.wml, application/vnd.wap.xhtml+xml, application/xhtml+xml, text/html, multipart/mixed, */*, text/vnd.wap.wmlscript\r\n

    but in a succesfull download(From Nokia 6600) the mime types in GET request are as follow
    Accept: application/java-archive, application/java, application/x-java-archive, text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor, application/vnd.met.ticket, application/x-wallet-appl.user-data-provision, text/x-co-desc, application/x-javascri

    can someone help me to find the differrence between these 2 ?

    thanks all
