Not exactly sure what you mean by "configurations", but have you checked the contents of the user-agent header in the request?

i want to know the configurations of the phone (i.e cldc 1.1/1.0 and midp 2.0/1.0) which is downloading my application over the air.

a good example would be hostj2me.com....here wenever any phone downloads any j2me application...the website in its log will show u the phone model number and wat kind of configurations it has....
