Need help - application icon

Hello all,

I am trying to display the icon for the application. The icon that I have is bmp format. The default that is displayed in the emulater is svg format, however in the device that svg icon is not displayed. I want to remove this svg image and add my bmp image. Can anyone guide me through it? It will be of great help. I tried all that I could but all in vain.

I have used mifconv to get mbm from icon.bmp and icon_mask.bmp

Can you mention what is the problem you are getting.Is it that your application is still picking the default icon ?? If that is the case have you tried rebooting(restarting) your device??

I had heard a suggestion earlier on the same and it had worked for somebody : Format the phone in which you had been trying and try again.(I havent faced this so dont know first hand, but you can have a go at it and see if it works.)

If you are not able to see the SVG icon then you don't need to format your phone. It would be a killing solution. ;)

There is a know problem with SVG icon and it is SVG caching. You just need to restart your phone to show a new icon, generally.

As to your missed "Why does it happen?" (Which I presume you added after posting the first transcript of post#8, and wasnt there when I was replying): Well Like Kiran mentioned, its a known issue regarding SVG casching which gets cleared once you re-start the device (well I was half sure of the re-start. So went for the overkill of formating the phone to avoid another post which suggested a restart and if that doesnt work a format) But anyway, the cache is cleared of the impending SVG icon and the new one can be seen.
