The recent PR about s60 5th edition mentions ActionScript extension for Flash Lite 3.1 and "Platform services".

Does this only apply to Flash Lite embedded in a web page, running within the WRT context, or does the Flash Lite standalone have direct access to platform services as well?

Yes, the standalone player has access to the platform services through ActionScript.

Documentation, etc. on S60 Platform Services for Flash Lite will be available soon. I will post a link once it is available.
