FTP Connection 2nd and 3rd edition

Hi All,

I wish to create an application which establishes a FTP connection with a server and downloads a file. I wish the same application to run on both 2nd and 3rd edition devices.... my questions are as follows:
1. Is it possible to have a common application for both the editions???
2. If yes then please guide me how.
3. If no, then kindly suggest a way out.

Hi,

In 2nd SDK nokia was given FTP library but it not the part of 3rd SDK. but if you use socket and implement this by your own the all most the same code will work on both the sdk with minar changes.

I am a newbie in sockets and FTP... can you please guide me by giving some sample code, in order to have some idea how the things would be going...
