AT Command to send SMS in PDU format

I have tried to send SMS through AT Command to the mobile connected to my COM port through HyperTerminal: "at+cmgs=<length><CR><PDU><Ctrl Z>". But i am not successful in sending through it. I have followed the PDU standards through GSM 03.38 and GSM 03.40. For AT Commands i have followed GSM 07.05.
Similarly i am not able to write the SMS in the memory of the phone through command: "at+cmgw=<param>...".
Other commands like listing, reading of SMS are working fine.
If anybody has successfully been able to send the SMS please help, may be with a working PDU and some example tried by you.
